WHY ALL THE EFFORT?

Because we, as educators, parents, and community members are acutely aware of the need for school and summer programs that foster environmental and interpersonal understanding and interaction - and fun! We firmly believe that Caritas Creek's mission is relevant today for children, schools, and communities - indeed we believe that this program is an essential step for a sustainable future.

HISTORY

Caritas Creek was founded in 1975 by a group of Bay Area educators. For over 30 years, hundreds of Bay Area schools (and tens of thousands of children) have benefited from the services, mission, and philosophy of Caritas Creek. The environmental education program is a vital part of many schools' curriculum. Former locations were in Mendocino and Occidental, California. The Environmental Education program has been operating at Camp Cazadero (in Sonoma County near the Russian River) since Fall 2007.
