Welcome to Caritas Creek
Caritas Creek is a community of caring individuals who are dedicated to providing
a playful, fun-filled, and challenging environmental education 
experience
in a natural setting. Our programs empower students to:
- discover their own sense of wonder
- develop a deeper understanding of self, others, and the natural environment
We strive to meet these objectives through:
- adventure-based education
- experiential learning
- social interactions in a culturally diverse community
- opportunities for both individual and collective reflection
Caritas Creek offers two components:
- Environmental Education for school groups
- Summer Camp for children and youth
Environmental Education for School Groups
Young people engage in an inquiry-based program to explore the natural world, build community with others and develop self-reflection and communication skills. Working in small groups through a carefully crafted, experiential program, students are empowered to share their discoveries with one another. Students return to their school and home communities understanding their responsibilities as peace-makers and as ecological stewards.
Summer Camp for Children and Youth
Caritas Creek also offers a summer camp program which:
- is recreationally-based
- shares the core values of outdoor education with an emphasis on developing deeper connections to self, others, the spirit of love, and the environment
- is open to children ages 8 - 15
- has counselor-in-training (CIT) positions for youth ages 16-18
- offers traditional summer camp activities
- provides a meaningful opportunity for youth to reconnect with outdoor education program attendees
